The result
Queensland best friends Courtney and Sev, a site manager and an interior designer, have won The Block 2026 with $1.87 million in total winnings, the largest in the Nine program's history. Their House 4 at Mount Eliza sold for $4.72 million, a $1.27 million profit.[1]
The rest came from a $100,000 winners' prize and a $500,000 prize pool.[1] Domain, which is owned by Nine, listed the pool as a Chery car, a Bar Crusher boat, a Titanium caravan, a safe of Rolex watches and $50,000 in cash.[2]
"It doesn't feel real, it's just the craziest thing," Courtney said. "We're so grateful, and we could have never imagined that we'd be walking away with this kind of money and the prize pool."[1]
Every house sold
All five homes sold above their $3.45 million reserves.[2] Adam and Jolene's House 1 sold for $3.905 million, a $455,000 profit; Chantel and Wyatt's House 2 for $3.817 million, a $367,000 profit; Lisa and Rosco's House 3 for $4 million, a $550,000 profit; and Rick and Tayla's House 5 for $4.355 million, a $905,000 profit.[1]
Lisa and Rosco, who had their second child a week before the auctions, went through the longest auction in the show's history: more than 100 bids over more than 40 minutes. A late swap in the auction order, proposed by agent Quentin McEwing after a hard campaign for House 2, moved Courtney and Sev into second place so Chantel and Wyatt could reach underbidders from earlier auctions.[1]
"We are thrilled to beat the market and deliver a hundred per cent clearance rate for our very deserving contestants," executive producer Julian Cress said. "And to have done it in such a challenging market makes it even more special."[1]
Nine's season
The Block has now paid $44,524,138.06 in contestant winnings since it launched on Nine in 2003.[1] This season also brought scrutiny of Nine's editing: the network told advertisers about AI edits on The Block before viewers.
