Corrections policy
How Prompt the Market handles errors, clarifications and complaints.
We correct errors of fact promptly, visibly and without being asked twice.
What we correct
- Corrections fix a factual error: a wrong figure, name, date, attribution or characterisation.
- Clarifications fix something accurate but misleading or unclear.
- Updates add new information to a developing story and are marked with the time of the update.
How we correct
- The article is fixed, and a note at the foot of the article states what was changed and when.
- Material corrections and clarifications are recorded in the public corrections log.
- Headline corrections keep the original URL so existing links continue to work.
- We do not silently change facts.
How to report an error
Email our corrections desk with the article link and the specific claim you believe is wrong, with evidence where you have it. We aim to respond within two business days.
Complaints
If you are not satisfied with our response, reply to the same thread asking for a review by the editor. The editor's decision is recorded in the corrections log where a change is made.
